Ofloxacin is a white to slightly yellow crystalline powder; it is odorless; it changes color when exposed to light. This product is slightly soluble or very slightly soluble in water or methanol; easily soluble in glacial acetic acid or sodium hydroxide test solution, and soluble in 0.1mol/L hydrochloric acid solution. Specific rotation: take this product, accurately weigh it, add chloroform to dissolve and dilute quantitatively to make a solution containing about 10mg per 1ml, measured according to law (General Rule 0621), the specific rotation is -1° to +1°
Pharmacological action
Ofloxacin has the characteristics of wide antibacterial spectrum and strong antibacterial effect. It has strong antibacterial activity against Gram-negative bacteria, and has good antibacterial effect against Gram-positive bacteria, Legionella, Mycoplasma, and Chlamydia, but it has a good antibacterial effect against gram-negative bacteria. Oxygen bacteria and enterococci are less effective.
